The City of Cullman's Parks and Recreation Department is committed to the provision of well-designed parks and recreation areas for the present and future needs of the citizens of Cullman. It is our goal to continually assess the leisure pursuits of our patrons and to develop recreational programs to meet their needs.

My First Time Rock Climbing

A challenging outdoor activity that is great for birthday parties, youth group outings, family get-togethers & activity dates.  Professional Guide & Instructor John W. McCrary will lead you on this fun experience.  Date:  Every Saturday morning 9-1 pm $25 per person, Ages 6+.  Call ahead for reservations

Yoga

Classes are held every Tuesday at 6pm.  $40 for any 6 classes, $30 for Seniors. Register now at the Civic Center. Classes are taught by Fabian Holland.

New Classes!

Mommy & Me – Shake, Rattle & Roll Program:  A fun and exciting way for you to get back that “before baby body”.  Combining cardio and strength training, you can achieve your personal fitness goals and have a unique bonding experience with your little one/s !  This is a developmentally stimulating experience for your child while you connect with other mommies and get back in shape.  We will also have a toddler exercise program supervised by trained professionals at the same time for those who don’t want to roll!   The program is every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am – 9:30am starting in May at Heritage Park.  Instructors:  Etta Gibson & Kourtney Cuellar, of Young Champions Athletic Training.  Cost:  $30/month, $10 for one extra child, $5 per child after 2.  Sign up now at the Cullman Civic Center.  734-9157

Tae Kwon Do/Karate Classes:  Learn:  Super-Effective Kicks and Punching Techniques, Karate Forms and Patterns.  TAE KWON DO is a Korean Martial Art that means, “The Way of Hand and Foot”.  This Martial Art teaches Flexibility, Self-Control and focus, respect, and self defense.  Great for families, both children and adults!  Helps with increasing muscle tone, coordination, flexibility, and is great exercise. Black Belt Instructor, Jim Turner, has over 20 years experience with this Martial Art.  4 week class, $40, will be each Tuesday and Thursday beginning August 19th.  Call the Civic Center for more details.
