Cullman Continues to Shine: Ranked #5 Among U.S. Micropolitan Areas

We're excited to share some fantastic news that highlights why Cullman is such a special place to live, work, and play! Site Selection Magazine has ranked Cullman as the #5 micropolitan area in the nation for 2025, competing against more than 570 communities across the country.

This recognition isn't just a one-time achievement – it's part of our community's impressive track record, marking our 19th appearance in these rankings over 23 years. As your parks and recreation department, we're proud to be part of a community that consistently attracts major economic development projects and continues to grow stronger each year.

The ranking reflects significant business investments in our area, with each qualifying project creating at least 20 jobs, investing $1 million or more, or adding substantial facility space. This growth directly impacts our ability to enhance recreational opportunities and quality of life for Cullman residents.

Mayor Woody Jacobs attributes this success to outstanding teamwork between various local organizations, including city and county governments, schools, and economic development agencies. This collaborative spirit is what makes Cullman special and allows us to keep providing top-notch recreational facilities and programs for our community.
