My Fair Lady — Summer 2026

Kristy McCrickard

Director

Kristy is an award-winning director with State One Act Championships from Georgia and Minnesota and twice the Best Director of Musicals Award from Georgia. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and Theatre from Auburn University, a Master’s of Education from St. Mary’s University, and a Master’s of English from the University of West Alabama. She is also a certified Stage Combat Instructor. Kristy has been teaching English and Theatre for 30 years in Atlanta, Minneapolis, and Nashville. She has served as an Assistant Director of Education for The Guthrie Theatre and has worked with The Shakespeare Tavern in Georgia. She is now loving her new position as an ELA Teacher at Cullman High School. She would like to thank God for the opportunities and all her family for their love and support. She especially wants to thank Miles, her husband, for all his wisdom, encouragement, and love.

Rodney Basenburg

Assistant Director and Music Director

Rodney Basenburg has been involved in music and theater since 4th grade. He was a soloist both at school and in church during his boy soprano days. He minored in music at college and took theater classes, which were always a passion. After school, he auditioned and became a member of the Independent Presbyterian Choir and sang multiple concerts with members of the Birmingham Orchestra. Over his 27 years, the choir did many tours of European cities, singing in some of the Great Cathedrals. He also met five wonderful guys while at IPC, and they formed a Doo Wop Group called the DipTones. These guys sang all over the Southeast for the next 25 years and made three recordings of classic Doo Wop tunes and music from other rock genres. He had been in numerous theater ensembles and often had Small speaking parts. The two biggest roles were Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, Freddy in My Fair Lady, and Mr Van Der Gelder in Hello Dolly. Since coming to CCT, he has been involved in several assistant directing and musical directing positions. He is very proud of bringing his vision of Steel Magnolias to Cullman.

Debbie Johnston

Assistant Music Director

Debbie Johnston is excited to be assistant music director for My Fair Lady. Her past credits include Hello Dolly, The Sound of Music, and Fiddler on the Roof. She is amazed at the talent in our community and grateful to have the chance to work with this cast.

Laura Harris

Stage Manager and Costume Design

Laura has always had a love for the arts and music. Theater was never on the radar until her life took a drastic change in 2019, and she felt the need to retire from her teaching career and reset her life on a different path. One day she saw Cullman Community Theater was holding auditions for "Hello Dolly" and she decided to take a risk and audition for the ensemble. The rest is history. Laura fell in love with the theater community and the people it brings together. Laura was asked to assist with stage management for "Seven brides for seven brother" and then took a big leap of faith when she got the role of Clairee in "Steel Magnolias". She was then brought back to be stage and costume manager for "Sound of Music" and "The Wizard of Oz". Laura feels her greatest accomplishment is being mom to her two children and Nana to her four grandchildren. Her joy comes from spending time with family and being her grandchildren's biggest cheerleader in everything they do.

Connor Seay

Stage Manager

Connor, a recent lover of the theater (by marriage). Originally from South Carolina and married to the beautiful and talented Savannah Smith (now Seay) of Cullman. He taught 3rd grade in South Carolina before being called to ministry at First Baptist church in Cullman. Now serves as the associate children’s minister and preteen minister. Currently going to seminary for a master's in divinity at NOBTS. Some say he is widely athletic and can run a sub-6-second 40-yard dash.

Madalyn Jordan

Choreographer and Marketing Director

Madalyn is originally from Birmingham, Alabama, where she participated in Red Mountain Theatre shows and programs. She also grew up dancing and cheering, extracurricularly and for school. She later graduated from Auburn University with a major in Radio, Television, and Film- Media Studies and a minor in Dance/Theatre. She's married to Scott, and together they have two ginger babies- Ford, who's 4, and Clyde, who is 2. Not to mention, two fur babies- Reese's Pieces Pup and Dixie Dog Delight. Madalyn's day job is doing Social Media Marketing for an IT and marketing company.

Wayne Cook

Scenic Dsigner

Wayne Cook (Alfred P. Doolittle) is thrilled to be returning to the stage with Cullman Community Theatre as Alfred P. Doolittle. Wayne returns after playing Tevye in last year's production of Fiddler on the Roof. Wayne is considered the founder of Cullman Community Theatre. He serves on the board and has most often been found in the director’s chair, having directed CCT productions of The Music Man, Oklahoma, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and The Sound of Music. He is also a director and teacher of theatre at Cullman High School, where he inspires a younger generation to love theatre. He has recently been named the Alabama Thespian Troupe Director of the Year for 2026. As a high school director, Wayne has led Cullman Theatre to four state championship titles in one-act competitions. Wayne is married to Robin Bowling Cook, and they have one son, Carter Cook. Along with acting in MFL, Wayne is also serving as an assistant director to Mrs. Kristy, handling sets, transitions, and set dressings. Wayne would like to send a huge thank you to all of CCT, the board, his family, and this community for their endless support as we all work to make the arts matter in Cullman.

Aaron Johnston

Technical Director

Aaron has been working in stage lighting for over twenty years and currently serves as the Lighting Director at First Baptist Church in Cullman. He’s also an active part of Cullman Community Theatre, where he’s recently helped bring shows like *Moana*, *The Sound of Music*, and *The Wizard of Oz* to life. Theater has been a longtime passion for Aaron, especially the behind-the-scenes work that helps tell powerful stories on stage. He loves sharing that passion by mentoring students and volunteers in technical theater, helping them grow in confidence and creativity.
